Highwic - A Perfect Venue

Built in 1862, Highwic is one of New Zealand’s finest Carpenter Gothic mansions and provides a spectacular heritage setting for your wedding.

Hidden away in the heart of Newmarket, Auckland’s premier shopping district, Highwic is centrally located and easily accessible via the motorway to north and west Auckland, as well as the central city and airport. Public transport is easily accessible, with the Newmarket Rail Station only 5 minutes walk away. With plenty of accommodation within easy walking distance, Highwic is in a convenient location for out-of-town guests.

The Drawing Room is an elegant formal space with Kauri wood paneling and is home to an 1890s grand piano, which can be played. The historic Billiard House is a more informal space that is easily personalized. Both spaces can accommodate up to 40 people for a seated meal, or up to 70 people standing for a cocktail reception.

For larger weddings, Highwic’s Tennis Lawn can accommodate a marquee for up to 100 people. The Croquet Lawn, which can be set up with our collection of vintage lawn games, provides space for your guests to relax on picnic rugs and enjoy the heritage gardens.

Venue hire includes full access to the historic house and grounds for you and your guests to explore, Victorian lawn games, and onsite parking for up to 20 cars. We also have access to the Westfield carpark, linked to the property via a short walkway.

Highwic is open to view Wednesday through Sunday, 10.30am to 4.30pm, or by appointment.
