Fakaalofa, kia ora, hello!
My background is a melting pot of ethnicities but let’s keep this simple…my mother is from ‘The Rock’, Niue and my father was from Wellington. While I was born and raised under the hills of Titirangi, West Auckland, Whangārei will always be where my heart is home. I have tattoos, each one a story in my timeline! I take photos of everything! I teeth-smile and belly-laugh a lot!
I have enjoyed an adventure-filled life participating in many sports, but my passion and talent lay in competitive and representative athletics and rugby. During my early years, I left our shores to broaden my horizons in places such as Japan, the UK and Europe. I found cultures rich in tradition, ceremony, colour, and tantalizing food. These experiences gifted me with an appreciation of my own heritage and homeland.
To your ceremony, I will be my genuine self which encompasses all of these things at the right times in the right amounts: caring, energetic, empathetic, gentle, guiding, supportive, direct, bold, enthusiastic, relaxed, calm, and colourful. Ever since I became a celebrant in 2014, I have dedicated myself to crafting unique and personalized ceremonies to create memorable moments filled with love and laughter.
I am a registered, qualified and experienced marriage celebrant with a Diploma in Celebrant Studies from The Celebrant School, for whom I am now a lecturer teaching the marriage papers. Additionally, I am a proud member of CANZ, Celebrants Aotearoa New Zealand, which is a professional body that provides support and ensures celebrants adhere to the code of ethics and professional standards of our industry.
I am Darcie Price, and I can’t wait to meet you!
