The Stokman

The Stokman venue is the perfect location for weddings, corporate functions or private gatherings. Nestled on the edge of our working Angus cattle farm and beside the steaming warm waters of Lake Ohakuri, the backdrop is simply stunning.

The venue has a large indoor/outdoor area with ample room for seated dining and a dance floor, as well as a grassed lawn.

Nobody likes to be rushed so we offer setup from 10 am the day prior, and you have until 4 pm the following day to clean up and relax.

This incredibly unique location is hired as a venue only, with a full kitchen, bathrooms and parking for both buses and private cars.

Just a stone’s throw from the Stokman venue is our accommodation. We currently have a rustic hut that sleeps four in bunks and also a double bed. The outdoor deck is covered and generous enough for dining and staying cool in the summer months.

The accommodation comes at no cost when booked alongside the venue, or it can be hired on its own. It’s the perfect spot for the groom and his men to spend some quality time together before the big day.

Your Hosts

Sherrie Stokman is an American and has Angus cattle running through her bloodlines – her family has owned Sitz Angus in the Rocky Mountains of Montana for over 90 years.

Mark runs the overall farming operation, which includes the Stokman Angus cattle stud, with Sherrie at his side when time allows.
