The Lodge has been designed in harmony with its surroundings, using natural materials such as wood and stone and featuring contemporary Māori and local artworks to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Our working farm welcomes guided farm tours and guests will have the opportunity to explore the station and gain an insight into the daily running of this busy sheep and cattle high country farm. The Lodge facilities include a decadent 7000 litre outdoor heated swimming spa pool, lawn games and several verandas on which to relax and absorb the sound of native birdsong. Interior spaces include a large lounge and dining area and cosy fireplace for those chillier morning and evenings. Enjoy access to our 600-hectare property as well as a private access to a black sand beach for unique wedding shots. We would be happy to recommend our preferred wedding operators if you need any assistance with planning your big day.

Located 95km from Auckland in the heart of Waikato farmland lies Te Karaka Lodge, part of Te Karaka Station.

Our venue hire guarantees exclusive access to the lodge and station for the ceremony and for photos. Venue hire also includes the Bridal room, which is the perfect place for the bridal party to get ready, crockery, cutlery and glassware and the help of our Lodge Managers to set up and plan your big day.

Stay

Each of Te Karaka Lodge’s ten lodge rooms has been furnished with comfort in mind creating a contemporary farmstay experience.

Décor is luxurious yet organic.

Colours inspired by the surrounding landscape invite you to immerse yourself in the harmonious environment which has been created for complete relaxation.

The lodge offers 10 guest suites for an intimate and hosted experience and includes nine Deluxe rooms and one Master Suite. Truly a place to unwind and the perfect escape to connect with nature and experience the stunning beauty of rural New Zealand. Each of the 10 Lodge rooms are spacious, contemporary, and luxurious, with large windows taking in the stunning views, plush bedding, and modern amenities. Beds may be split to twin to accommodate up to 20 guests. Spacious ensuite bathrooms feature luxurious robes and premium, eco-amenities. The Master Suite is slightly larger than the deluxe rooms and features a bathtub and rain shower, which is ideal for the VIP in the group! Glamping tents and additional accommodation is also available for larger overnight gatherings. For all overnight stays, the venue hire will be waived.

Dining

Te Karaka Lodge serves delicious cuisine made from fresh New Zealand ingredients. Your wedding banquet will be prepared by our Head Chef and we can accommodate all dietary requirements. Breakfast is included in overnight stays. We would love for you come and see the space in person and have a chat with Chef Dominic to discuss your catering requirements and design your wedding banquet.

We have a convivial bar area and a wide selection of beverages to choose from. We can put together a special drinks package for you and work within your budget. Unfortunately, BYO is not available.

Our beverage list includes local producers and a great selection of New Zealand wines beers and spirits.
